21st Century Folly

A new folly for the park Take me here now

Icons of the park's history

In 2020 Staunton Country Park got a new folly to add to its collection. The 'Magical 21st Century Folly' is located near the park entrance, and is a modern-day totem pole with a stack of objects representing aspects of the park's past and present stories.

The design was created in discussion with the park staff and visitors, and then created in sections at Mick Thacker's studio in Shropshire. We like to think that George Staunton would have appreciated the continuation of his work to enhance the landscape with new art.
