As we walk, we become aware of our senses.

Smell - Smell as if smelling for the first time. What can we smell? Any sense? Just becoming aware...

Taste - Taste as if tasting for the first time. Become aware of the taste of the saliva in your mouth, or take a sip of water, if you have some with you.

Sounds - Use your ears as if listening for the first time. The sound of your shoes crunching on the gravel, the different birds, singing the wind in the trees.

Touch - Feel the breeze on different parts of your body, on your face and how it touches your hair. The feel of your clothes and the fabric on your skin. The feel of your feet in your shoes. Feel everything as a feeling it for the first time.

Lastly, become aware of your sight. Notice all the colours around you as if seeing them for the first time. Take in all the beauty that surrounds you and be aware of all five senses. When you are mindfully walking around this beautiful paradise.

On this part of the walk, go into the park along the path while you listen to the exercise. You will pass the brick wall on your right hand side, and the new 21st Century Folly, but do not go beyond the point where the path forks.

After finishing this step, go to Stop 3 - The Redwoods. You will find a carved figure on the stump of a tree, which is where you should listen to the next exercise.
