My job is probably one of the best in the world. You're looking at my office, the walled garden, and behind us to the tropical glass houses. Absolutely fantastic environment. Wouldn't swap it for anything. It's just amazing. My job as head horticulturist is to manage a small team – there’s myself, Matthew and Mark - with a dedicated small band of volunteers. And we essentially are trying to maintain that ‘Spirit of Place’, that historical landscape, in terms of a modern 21st century visitor attraction as part of Hampshire County Council’s countryside service. And our day to day activities are creating a safe, pleasurable environment in which people wish to visit, and indeed return.
