Part of the Caretaker’s role is to make ensure that maintenance schedules are in place, and the right contractors come in to undertake certain tasks which are more technical, such as heating system and anything to do with gas, electric. You know, we need the right people in at the right time. Part of the Caretaker’s role is to make sure that things are identified to prevent things from deteriorating rapidly.

The Park is such a big area, my role is mainly focused on the building side, and some of the grounds where a lot of people congregate, for example fire meeting point areas, making sure everything is safe and is place, the signage is correct. If those were removed, damaged…set alight to…they need to be replaced. Part of my role is to identify all those areas which need to be revamped and making sure that everything is as it should be, according to the safety of visitors as well as the other staff behind the scenes.
